@why @lanodan from a technical standpoint the damn site is frozen in time. no vp9 support let alone av1 support for webms means that site is one of the only major things keeping vp8 alive :reeee: i can't post this beautiful masterpiece there, but luckily fedi is more lenient with decent video codecs :DDDDDDDDDD

@why Was it really acquired, though? All I'm seeing is that it's tied to Google Analytics, and it's an unfortunately common feature even on smaller websites nowadays.(also, 4chan has been manipulating the culture since before 2015, AFAIK)
