I kinda want to reply to this person, but I also kinda don't. I guess I'll just put my thoughts here instead. Cisgender men are socialized to see women in skimpy clothes dancing as a product for their sexual consumption, and this perspective is difficult to unsee. So of course some are gonna yell that this movie is sexualizing children. But women and girls and people with girl socialization see the same things as something personal - either something they want, or something forced on them.

The director of the movie is a black woman from a conservative Muslim family. The protagonist is a black girl from a conservative Muslim family. That should be enough to say that she's associating with the protagonist, not with men who see the protagonist. This is a movie about a girl facing sexualization. This is a girl narrative. It's not an entertainment for men. And some men are really acting as if they're man someone tried to offer them to be sexually attracted to a 11 yo.

@comrade_lecter I thought about saying more than I did, but then saw they're just the dumb conspiracy theorists that see "pedo rings" everywhere. Yeah, way too many people in power are abusing their power, specifically being rapists, but there's no huge worldwide conspiracy involving EVERYONE in power.

@comrade_lecter There are different reasons, but I'd be willing to bet the two biggest are, they're MAPs in denial, or they're caught up in the "pedo conspiracies" so they have to virtue signal to make sure people know they hate the pedos as much as everyone else.
