Oh to be a fly on the wall of the Durham/Brennan meeting.Just my POV but I don't think this is a fact finding exercise.I think Durham already has the goods on Brennan and may also have a GJ verdict.Either way, Brennan is about to learn that he's done. Don't be fooled by attempted exculpatory statements and press releases by their lawyers (Clinesmith) and 'former aides' (Brennan).The one just released - 'hey guys, John Brennan and Durham sat down and had a chat, nothing to see here' comes across as utter BS to me.The only statements you should rely on are from Durham/Barr/DOJ.Everything else cannot be trusted, when the stakes are so high.If Brennan isn't punished, it will be a major failure by A G Barr and a blow to the rule of law.

The last three interviews I saw from William Barr we're filled with how serious he thought all of this was, and any illegal activities would be met with indictments. @RonOgletree @REX I only stated the ratified conclusions of the bipartisan, GOP controlled committee based on evidence they all (and neither you nor I) evaluated first-hand. The merit of their conclusions passes all of the tests ordained in our system of government. The original post cast Brennan as a dirty player in the events scrutinized by the committee. My question remains... how does Brennan play out in the 1000 page report?

It's good and necessary to be skeptical but if it's not grounded in evidence-based reasoning it's not skepticism but something decidedly more dysfunctional ...What is your process for answering the question "is it even factual?" It sounds as if you have simply dismissed it out of hand as a convenience...

@MEMA @REX I don't see Trump and Barr so in sync. I think Trump wants Barr in that position and I think Barr wants to expose what was done to Trump. But sometimes I see Barr not quite but almost roll his eyes by things Trump says. Trump is so NY, and when you understand that, things are that much clearer.

Would DC judges want this to go to SCOTUS not knowing their decision would be upheld? They would do so only if certain the case would be reviewed before the election but even then they take a chance with Roberts and have to have case heard before the election. After election, they have to believe Trump won't win. So, yes, I'm optimistic.
