More fun with VHS tapes.E.Y.E.S. Of Mars, 1993, english dub, recorded off the Sci-Fi channel.I suspect this movie (OAV?) was made by or funded by a church. It's, ah, not very good, so I haven't been able to find much online about it.

@cev Oh, yeah, that is SUPER obscure, & one of the problems is that its alternative title is basically unfindable.

@publius I looked it up on ANN's encyclopedia and you're absolutely right, "Mother" is a tough thing to search for. ("Mother: Last Girl Eve" is a bit less tough.) It's apparently a collaboration between Toei and a company called "Manna Messe Inc."; that second name is a little suggestive.Thinking about the plot, it's a weird mashup of christianity, environmentalism, and the "Chariots Of The Gods" von Daniken story. I dunno, I have some nostalgia for it.
