People returning to their same jobs because their mayors and governors allowed businesses to reopen is not 'adding jobs'.Plus, this unemployment number was only captured through July 15 and doesn’t include the 1.4 million jobs lost last week.US economy added 1.8 million jobs in July but still down nearly 13 million jobs during the pandemic;https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/07/economy/july-2020-jobs-report/index.html

@TonyStark It’s irresponsible journalism to say “added 1.8 million jobs,” even with minor qualifiers to the statement, and yet my push notifications from NPR and WaPo used that phrase this morning. AP News did it somewhat better.

@TonyStark he will take credit for literally anything as pathetic and blatantly wrong as it is.

@TonyStark Mostly low-paying jobs at that. The reason the unemployment benefits aren't being extended is because Republicans want people in low wage jobs to make the economy look better for their reelection, not because they want to help make anyone's life better (except their own.)

@Pepper @TonyStark The whole purpose of "opening up" so soon was to satisfy big corporations' demands for their minions to return. It's all about money to them. No school, no daycare, kids at home = workers can't go in. Thus, the surge. I hear Darwin is really stepping up his game, though, with up to 250K attending the annual Sturgis bike rally. Those folks will bring it there, give it to someone else, and they'll bring it home. Brilliant.

@cloutman @Pepper @TonyStark I know stereotyping people is wrong, but I do expect many of those in attendance are anti-maskers, anti-vaxxers, and anti-government. That also makes them antisocial.
