Is Zettelkasten just a private wiki? Sometimes I see software described as Zettelkasten and it just seems like a wiki but with less features: no users, no recent changes?

@kensanata The important thing about ZK is tagging. It's meant to be a pen and paper system, so multi user, links, versioning, and most other standard wiki features are not relevant (but admittedly nice additions)

@kensanata In my view Zettlekasten is a methodology that can be implemented in a wiki (or on paper, or in text files). It's like GTD. It's a way of thinking about a system rather than software. For me, the breakthrough was to make atomic (single idea) posts and to interlink with descriptions of the links. I used Gollum, a git-based markdown wiki. Now I just use vim. But it was a shift in my way of working. For the better, I think.I wrote about it here a while ago here https://clerestory.netlify.app/zk
