@Debradelai @IrredeemableOne Now we will get to find out what kind of Man NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine really is, and if his selection by Donald J. Trump was what NASA needed to get out of this kind of stupid shit thinking, on our dime.

@Debradelai @IrredeemableOne The after splashdown of the manned capsule was embarrassing and I'm sure that Buzz Aldren was laughing himself silly over the ridiculous placing of the two on gurneys like they were invalids.OK, they were up there for 60 days in low earth orbit.I still remember the BIGS that the Apollo 11 crew wore but still even dressed in that, they jumped out of the helicopter on their own two feet. After landing on the frikkin' Moon!

@Debradelai @IrredeemableOne Agreed, but before this flight, what limited video we have of Soyuz landings since Obama cut the Shuttle flights, and even then, we had astronauts up there for 6 months or more and no scenes like that at all.

@Debradelai @IrredeemableOne This is one arena I have followed and studied since watching the Mercury 1 launch with Alan Sheppard on board.Watched every one I could and even would sneak a listen to my transistor radio in school to keep up on the rest of the 7 flights. Then Gemini started.Watched live when Ed White made that first ever space walk. Then we were sent to France. All I had was the Stars and Stripes.Through it all, I built the plastic models of the upcoming Apollo pieces.

@masterblaster @RonOgletree @Debradelai @IrredeemableOne Dang it. I had high hopes for Bridenstine. He was our House Representative (OK District #1) until Trump appointed him to the Space Force. Sure doesnโt sound good.

@Debradelai @IrredeemableOne From day one I kept newspaper clippings in a scrapbook. I ate, slept and drank the space program.Same when I was in Iran. kept clippings and AP teletype stories. The shuttle launches were great eye candy as most went to the ISS and its launch trajectory would pass by "The First Coast" on a NNE path and the SRB's would separate adjacent to St. Augustine.Went to a number of the launched at Titusville and on the causeway.

@Debradelai @IrredeemableOne I was very fortunate to be a SCCA racing friend with the then Shuttle Launch Director, Bob Seick and was afforded the time once to view from the VIP stands. For a techie, there is no better sex. Even got to tour the VAB in 76.Sadly the scrapbook was destroyed during a hurricane, but the memories are as fresh as the morning dew.I still have a model to build of the Shuttle Launchpad structure, when the time is right. Thanks for indulging my memory dump.

@Debradelai @IrredeemableOne OH, I forgot to mention about watching the Apollo 11 moon landing with my grandfather, who as a page for a Georgia Senator, just happened to be invited to Kitty Hawk for one of the subsequent first flights on their way to DC.He saw it all. An amazing surreal moment.

@spinmaven @masterblaster @Debradelai @IrredeemableOne Had to leave the house during the news conference. Asked the wife to record it but the recording missed his answer to the question about the civilian boats, but what I did see of his body language while the question was asked did not give me hope.Maybe its better I don't know yet what that answer was.You can bet your life the only reason it even came up was the boat with the TRUMP flag.

@RonOgletree @Debradelai @IrredeemableOne SpaceX on NASA TV This whole thing to me seemed like clapping for baby steps after the kid learned to ride and fell off the bicycle.Don't get me started on the "Dumbed Down" commentary. Space Dads? Sweet baby Jesus...

@aquanaut642 @Debradelai @IrredeemableOne I did not even get to the commentary and the utter lack of any models or even slick CGI videos to explain what a "Trunk" was, much like everything else."Space Dads" that was pathetic. Made me cringe too. Then when the two doddering idiots were doing their summary and signoff, the twit started blubbering up and then was crying. Granted, she was the SpaceX choice from Monster. Not one astronaut or former space launch professional commentator?
