Alpha-chad GNU/Linux Users bully Proprietary Cuckware user in email. Are they right about everything? How much sense does it make to use an encrypted and librebooted X200 ThinkPad when you're still living in a city with CCTV facial recognition and monitoring devices literally everywhere? It's great to care about software freedom and make strides in that direction, but if you have a smart phone, smart car and smart TV, you are still compromised.WEBSITE: https://lukesmith.xyz 🌐❓🔎DONATE: https://lukesmith.xyz/donate 💰😎👌💯OR affiliate links to things l use:https://www.epik.com/?affid=we2ro7sa6 Get a cheap and reliable domain name with Epik.https://www.vultr.com/?ref=8384069-6G Get a VPS and host a website or server for anything else.https://brave.com/luk005 Get the Brave browser.https://lbry.tv/$/invite/@Luke View my videos on LBRY.https://www.coinbase.com/join/smith_5to1 Get crypto-rich on Coinbase.

@luke When you said "free software extreamism isn't far enough", I thought you'd say how FSF turns a blind eye on things like systemd. But anyway nice video Luke.

@redstarfish@social.linux.pizza Well if the FSF was against bad software or feature-bloat, they'd arguably have to be against GNU itself.

@luke Never considered GNU to be bloat, maybe cause, I've only used the GNU syatem till now.But I'll definitely try out openBSD (or its free variant), and try to look into GNU source code before I come to conclusion.

@luke It’s an alright speech, but a little too individualist still. Deciding to use all free software yourself and not getting anyone else to do it, is like sterilizing yourself to control world population. I’d happily use Windows 10, if it would let me convince 20 people that closed source software should not be allowed. Ultimately we have to get other people to join in solidarity, and then our own hypocrisy is a minor issue that can be easily fixed.

It’s great to say people roast your OS because they care about you, though! If more people understood that, we’d have fewer $corporation fans who loudly declare how stupid all those innumerable haters are, who totally exist.

@cy Well, I'm sure you know as well as I that Luke doesn't really promote Free software ('Linux') evangelism. The best we can do is educate, and let people decide for themselves.

@luke The GNU project are actually, by principal, pro-bloat in that they embrace hard pragmatism in their development approach (ignore standards where convenient, stuff in features wherever, etc)

Let's not forget privacy and security isn't the only point of free software, even if it's one of its main selling points.I completely respect anyone going 100% privacy freak, but I personally, by choice, am not one of them and put all my personal information online. Still I advocate and use only free, suckless SW because I completely reject any idea of intellectual property and limiting what people can do with their copy of any kind of information. Proprietary SW and art prevent improvement, creativity, sharing, they stand in the way of education and science, create unnecessary work, bullshit jobs etcetc. And of course, as a bonus, free SW is simply of much higher quality too. The whole concept of someone owning a program or piece of art is a manifestation of the evils of our rotten society.
