There was a time when I was moving house and I had no WiFi so there was not much to do on my computer and I kinda hate smartphones. I got bored and, just like, you managed to do all those things I was putting down: cleaned house, unpacked, read a book, got lost in my thoughts and I felt **great** those few days.The WiFi installer guy comes in, and I'm sitting in the internet whole day just like before. This got me thinking and nowadays, I keep some 'offline' hours every day. No exact plans there, just time to get bored. The most valuable time of the day, most of the time.

I work remotely so I need the internet for my entire workday, but I think it's worth shutting stuff down on weekends and/or evenings. Time to turn on the parental controls in my router for my own devices...

@lukeThe closest I've come to turning off my internet was a period of about six months in my life when I did not have a phone. Just having that limitation of not being able to drag my phone into bed and be connected to the internet until my eyes got too heavy was nice. It also helped me plan out any errands I'd need to run, as I couldn't ping my father and ask what he needed. As much as I love the internet, I think I'd like to go some time without it soon enough.

Yeah I think it's also a good thing to go without every now and again. Of course, if we were perfect we'd be able to handle the internet and not procrastinate but at least for me that's not possible. How did you handle work, or were you on annual leave for the week you weren't using the internet?

What if rationally speaking, internet had become a dopamine factory which cannot bring a social being, the required oxytocin levels for it to operate. What if it was no big deal if you stopped reflecting with us, your upcommies web ghosts, for a year. What if FOMO sway was cancerous. What if the metaphoric way of the holy ATOM feeds ah'ctually teached us that We control our feeding machines, not the other way around ; otherwise, we in turn, would become the machines. @viper911 @lupo_lucio Not to say that they don't do that, but searching for the answer shows they have at least a little drive to find the answer on their own. You should really have a better order of problem solving, though, and searching google is still better than crying on a support forum for help without even trying to look.
