I'm seeing a lot of chatter about #Wacom alternatives like #Huion and #XPPen (XP-Pen), and also seeing some folks cautioning against them because ultimately the drivers, hardware, or some combination of the two don't make it worth your while. Anybody local have any thoughts? I'm specifically looking at the #WacomIntuosPro and its alternatives in the #HuionQ11K and the #XPPenDecoPro.

@swordjaw i use a wacom intuos and i've had plenty of issues with the drivers over the years. wacom's infamous for having crappy drivers. the hardware itself is fine and i have no complaints other than the nibs wear out fast.my partner has a huion tablet of similar size to my medium intuos and it works just fine. comparable to my wacom and it was less than $100, no issues with drivers for the huion yet and it's been nearly a year since they got it.

@swordjaw I've had a Wacom Graphire, Intuos 3, and Intuos 4 over the years. I've had driver problems with all of them at various times, and each of the Intuoses sadly bit the bullet (after many years) due to eventual hardware failure. Most recently, I got a Huion H950P to replace the Int 4, and the only real problem I've had was actually with Windows Ink trying to steal control of the tablet from its driver.(1/2)

@swordjaw I actually feel like the Huion driver is *better* than the drivers I had for my Int4. It gives you more granular control over the pen calibration. That said, I've heard some people say they couldn't get Huion drivers to install. So my advice would be to download the appropriate drivers from their website and check if you can install them before you decide if you want to buy. 👍Hope that helps!
