> YouTube is increasing the price of its live streaming YouTube TV service yet again, raising the price from $50 per month to $65 per month for new subscribers as of today. We've revolutionized the cable bill. Now it's an app!

@feld now it's multiple subscription services rather than one ubiquitous entity making choices for you. I prefer this new model of trying to decide from what service to download content. 9/10 times it's Usenet.

@feld Meanwhile I can just hook up to the antenna (100€/year of additional tax IIRC) and get some TNT, or just go on the television own website.

@feld why did you join Usenet? Was it for the "forums" or for the binaries?

@cobra2 forums have been pretty dead since the early 2000s, I just use it for binaries which is amazing. I can get anything I want at the max speed of my network connection. I regularly download stuff at 500mbit+

@feld some of the slackware groups were still active 10 years ago. I've not checked in the past 6 or so. I've been using Usenet pretty much since I discovered it as a part of my library back in the early 90's
