       One thing I love is the very same 'leftists' who'll be like, Big Pharma is evil, be careful about medications, they just want to make a profit off your insurance... will then proceed to be like, EXCEPT when it comes to trans healthcare, THEN Big Pharma is your best friend who would never lie to you and only has your best interests in mind.

       @Wildebeest YES! It is so hypocritical. How can you say you're anti-capitalist and against Big Pharma and then participate (and tell other people it's necessary to participate) in the biggest, most expensive scam/cult ever? How does spending thousands of dollars on unnecessary surgeries, shots, pills, makeup etc remain anti-capitalist? Like what is the answer? because trans people EXIST?!

       I'm continually impressed at how they're able to hold these contradictory beliefs in mind -- I guess they do it by believing current mode of trans healthcare is as necessary as treatment for other, real, disorders and diseases.        Fuck, I just thinking about this yesterday. I was in a thread where people were criticizing the role medical professionals and big pharma play in transing, and this one person was basically prattling on like "So you don't trust professionals?" and all that shit. These same people are quick to say a of doctors aren't shit and will hand out dangerous medication like candy. But suddenly, they're never capable of doing anything crooked, ever, when they're handing out titty skittles. @Wildebeest

       @Wildebeest It seems to me that "trans healthcare" is just how they have reframed plastic surgery, though? Aside from the effects of hormones, which I never hear talked about in a less than completely positive way. Of course leftists want healthcare to be accessible to everyone, but calling it "elective plastic surgery" instead of "top/bottom gender confirmation surgery" would make it impossible to defend as someone opposed to capitalism.        What 'trans healthcare' encompasses will depend on who you ask, but I think the standard is puberty blockers, hormones, and top/bottom surgery. The more radical activists include things like facial feminization surgery, tracheal shave, tattoos on FTM constructed neopenises to make it look 'real', etc etc.It is obfuscation.@slytherinhermit
