@igel @design_RG @a1batross This is quite interesting. Reactions. Facebook users will feel right at home. The system feels light and fast -- Pleroma engine in machine room doing it's usual great work, and some inovative Front end ideas in Soap Box.Thanks @igel for the service. I am preparing a new blog post about Pleroma Instance recommendations and should mention your site.

Deserved, and I think it will do really well -- the simplicity of the interface, controls, posting and replying will win over any newcomer.Eugen should pay attention!#FediReporter on the beat.

@realcaseyrollins @igel @design_RG @alex Alex is going to win over many many new users -- I am impressed.Honestly. For a new user coming from FB, I have not seen anything easier to adapt to. Kudos are in order!Excellent design, simplicity while using the underlying much superior Pleroma back end.I am giving up on Mastodon, tired of the project's tight control and lack of innovation. Still like GlitchSocial, but it's much slower than all the Pleroma instances I have tried.Eugen could really look and consider ideas, but. You know. πŸ˜‰ #FediReporter for #UI #UX improvements.

@yann @design_RG @igel @realcaseyrollins For context, this frontend is based on Mastodon's, so it's actually the same behavior of as Mastodon's twisting star, just replaced with a thumbs up. πŸ™‚The overall redesign of the frontend also comes from Gab, who originally created created the single column layout with the top bar. My role has been updating, polishing, and extending it to work with Pleroma. I have a lot of design ideas about the future, though.

@icedquinn LOL, yeah -- Bloat has wonderful use of the wide display in my laptop (something I highly prize!) but indeed looks like a Beta version still.Sopabox FE is more polished and has a big focus on making things simpler, a big help for its potential users. I think it will be quite successful as an alternative FE -- and could come to Mastodon too someday.@a1batross @igel

@design_RG @a1batross @igel i'd rather fill the space with tiles or columns than just stretch the words out. there's typographical reasons newspapers still use columns and books are thicker rather than wider.but if that's your thing you can use stylish to rip the width off any of the websites you frequent https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/stylish/ :blobcatscience:

@icedquinn Thank you for the suggestion, I will check it out. I have been using an enhanced wide screen layout that I really enjoyed. But it's true that simply going for very wide panels is not ideal.I created a topic describing it, and sent a suggestion to the Glitch-Social team, who might chose to implement it maybe.https://discourse.qoto.org/t/mastodon-screen-use-in-wide-screen-displays-a-search-for-better-results/280/5The Toots display in Bloat FE is indeed too wide.@a1batross @igel
