       @emacsen I have personally not enjoyed hacker news political bent for quite a number of years at this point. Quite a ways back I felt like they sidelined technical content in favor of going hard-core in the direction of entrepreneurship articles to the point of emphasizing those core values and life philosophies of which I am at best dubious.

       @emacsen It's a typical HN political thread where the people lamenting the "mob mentality" and "strawmanned arguments" are the same exact people that, in the course of their lamentation, are propagating a mob mentality and strawmanning any chance at reasonable discourse.I don't have a good name for this kind of missing self-awareness and lack of self-reflection, but it's been frustrating me the past few years in all sorts of digital spaces.
