I have a strange relationship to http://change.org, I see all the biases they use to make people sign petitions, there's a lot of "persuasion design" (to be polite) involved, I consider a LOT of what they do borderline but at the same time, it helps difference causes, so...

For example when you sign a petition they ask you to give money. At first I thought the money was going to the petition author to help, but no, it goes to the site so that they will "show this petition to 250 people for $10". But it's not that clearly labelled.

@stephaniewalter Their ever expanding 'goal' troubles me.You've surely seen it:98 out of 100 have signed!Then 10 minutes later103 out of 150 have signed!I do not think 'gamifying' is appropriate, when people are quite often looking for very serious support on very real issues.
