       @mkwadee It looks as if a late respons results in more deaths.UK was about 10 days later in responding than NL and now....NL was quite late too, due to their dubious herd immunity theory.

       @mkwadee It's an epidemiological concept. They hoped that just like with influenza a natural immunity would emerge over some time, while the virus was spreading freely. They had to admit that this would be an enormous burden for health care. So they changed their strategy.  A kind of gambling with lives.

       @KeaW Yes, it's gambling largely with poor people's lives.  Their big mistake was to think that this disease was as contagious as flu whereas it is much more so.  Also, in the UK, the government is particularly callous and distracted by Brexit.
