I'm trying to draw checkerboard in perspective at a low resolution. Does anyone here involved in making pixel art have tips on how to do it?I keep messing up with making both sides converge correctly, with regards to perspective.

@sean Bringing @joshmillard in case he has any advice, but I think he is more of a physical mediums artist.

@rickscully @sean Oh man, yeah, converging perspective at low resolutions is kind of a mess and not something I have great advice on. Even starting from a higher-resolution perspective rendering and scaling it way down and cleaning up, the tradeoff between crisp borders and good dimensions is real and punishing. If you have the flexibility of choosing exactly how big the tilted checkered surface is, trying to pick front and rear dimensions that are integer multiples helps some.

@rickscully @sean Like there's the "how do I get the lines right?" question and the "how do I make it look good?" question, and the latter one is trickier.

@joshmillard yeah, it's a doozy. I'll get it *mostly* right on both sides of the structure, but it becomes increasingly difficult to reconcile towards the middle. Maybe part of my problem involves not starting at the middle first.

@sean My main thought is, actually start with a wireframe across the whole structure and then do your coloring after. Just literally a harsh straight line from front to rear on each pair of points, then fix it up as you go. Will help with the overall proportions at least.

@joshmillard yeah, that's kind of where I'm at. I think I'm going to use two separate layers to draw the grid, one for horizontal lines, one for vertical.
