someone pointed out that cops go through about 110 hours of firearms training and 8 hours of conflict management training on averagefor comparison, to be licensed as a hairdresser you have to put in between 1500 and 2000 hours of trainingHairdressers are braver than the troops tbh

@SeanAloysiusOBrien oh yeah. my sister is a cosmetologist and had to take more abuse recognition, conflict de-escalation, and chemistry than she did like... Cutting hair. And far more than a cop has to take.

@LANthus @SeanAloysiusOBrien I’m curious how those all got added to the core curriculum. Are cosmetologists mandatory abuse reporters in your state? This might be one of the rare instances of professional licensing requiring competency in the required secondary skills (and not just leaving you unprepared or the mandatory secondary skills are only useful to a small fraction of the trade)

@portpupper @SeanAloysiusOBrien they as far as I know aren't like, mandatory abuse reporting, no as far as I can gather I'll have to talk to her for specifics
