something that's been on my mind is the tendency of leftists of all stripes to throw out, on the basis of the criticism of liberalism, several of the rights liberalism affords: freedom of speech, association etc. - at least, without some replacement strategy for them. It's great to criticize liberalism. But what replaces it? Surely not all speech in a Communist society is tolerated, but I get the impression that some speech is not tolerated. Which speech is that, and on what principles is that decided on? Stuff like porn, a tricky area even within the left, is still very much a debatable topic, and it gets even more complex when it comes to stuff like loli porn, and complicated further by the various opinions of ancoms.Surprisingly, the ancaps are the only to offer an "anything goes" approach, only out of ignorance of the real effects of speech.I might as well also mention my uncomfortable feelings about sentiments like "if there are 9 nazis at a table and one person debating them, you have 10 nazis". Statements like that don't help the left's case, no matter how much I agree with, say, deplatforming.
