Thread. So, yesterday my oldest and I went to the grocery store because we were down to crumbs as I hate going to the grocery store now because of all the panic people. It’s like going to the airport. Such a hassle. So many new rules. Whatever. We had to go.

For the first time ever, I decided we were going to wear masks. I wanted to get in and out and not have the freaks inhibit my movements. We put on the masks as we entered the store. I told my daughter not to cover her nose. That would be our FU to the panic people. It also turned into a social experiment. Here are my observations:1. My mask kept falling down and I kept touching it to fix it. Instead of focusing on the task at hand, I was completely distracted by this thing in my face.

2. Because I was wearing the mask, the panic people did not react at all if I was closer than 6 feet. They didn’t care if I was standing right next to them. They must believe the mask is a concrete wall. 3. The entire cleaning supplies aisle was empty and picked over. What the heck?4. I saw the few non-masked people as warriors and freedom patriots. Just being honest. They still had their dignity and they could breath.

5. Checking out was like standing in line for the TSA. We had to stand behind a red line. I couldn’t put my groceries on the belt until the lady in front of me was gone and the cashier sprayed the belt. Only THEN did she give me permission to put my stuff on the belt. I had to stay behind the red line the whole time. I couldn’t see the register as she rang up my stuff. I always like to watch. How do I know if I’m getting ripped off or not if I can’t the scanned price?

The only time did she say I could come up to the register in the middle of all this was to check my ID. I bought a bottle of wine. I have her my license, and she held it with her hand, looked at my DOB and gave it back. Then I had to go back behind the red line. After she was finished, she called us up and told me I could pay. I looked at the total and just had to trust that it was right. The cashier was pleasant and I know she was just following the rules her store has put in place.

As soon as we got outside, my daughter said, “mom, I can’t breathe.” I said as loud as I could, “take off the mask and breathe the fresh air!” There were tons of panic people in the parking lot. I was hoping one of them would say something because by that time, I was done. Even though we didn’t cover our noses the mask still inhibits air flow. We were a little nauseous after we took off the mask.

Bottom line: I’m not wearing the mask ever again. Once and done. It’s stupid and a total scam. And I’m not willing to compromise my health so a panic person “feels better”. @Momma_Voke My daughter owns a small men's hair salon in a boutique mall that's still closed in CA. Harmeet Dhillon is suing Newsom on behalf of 500 hair dressers. When she is "allowed" to open, she's expected to wear a mask & her client wear a mask while she attempts to cut his hair, trim his mustache, etc. WTF? She's having to purchase capes for each client at $15-20 ea. for the entire day. Then sterilize them somehow. She doesn't make enough to pay for all the BS.

Refused to stand on the X, because Wylie Coyote - but I kept my distance. Looked up to see a VERY old woman in a mask with a spray bottle of something hooked to her basket. She shuffled slowly down the aisle and stared intently at the items on the shelf. She absolutely violated the 6ft space, yet seemed oblivious.

@Momma_Voke Everybody knows I'm a designer, and I sew. So from the very start they were all "I bet your masks will be awesome!"I silently groaned.But I went out in the garage and found an old tablecloth. I cut twelve masks out. I cut all the elastic.They've been stacked on my ironing board since I cut them out, back whenever this crap started.I just can't make myself sew them. I won't wear one. I'll wear a cowboy bandana around my neck for "emergency moments," but that's it.

@Cdubois @Momma_Voke Haven't worn a mask yet. Went to a garden store today with sister. Big signs "Masks mandatory", so I stayed in the car. Companies who require me to wear a mask do not get my business.
