       @mike Thanks for another post. I have to say I am quite enjoying them.  They don't even have to be super deep or meaty.  I am a SW dev but relatively new to FOSS culture, self-hosting and privacy.  I suspect that many others are too.  Anyway I had vaguely heard mention of Mycroft before but didn't look too much into it.  After reading your post though, I learned that the activation word can customized. This is an EPIC feature so I might try it!  FOSS has little marketing so needs word of mouth

       @Crocmagnon As far as I know, there is no support for non-English languages. I did a quick search, and I found this from 2018:"Currently, Mycroft only officially works in English, with Community-driven efforts underway to support French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and Swedish."I didn't find anything more recent, so I assume that's still the case. I could be wrong. So far though, it seems that these are "community driven". Solutions might not be on the #Mycroft site.

       @Crocmagnon I was able to find this, which seems to disagree with my previous statement:https://mycroft-ai.gitbook.io/docs/using-mycroft-ai/customizations/languages#6-mycroft-core-lingua-franca-librarySince Mycroft is open source and can be installed on pretty much any Linux system, I'd recommend giving it a try. I have NO idea how good the French support is, but I'd be really interested in hearing about your experience if you do try it.

       @mike Oh thanks! Well, I’ll probably blog about this when I give it a try, so stay tuned 😜I still don’t have all the hardware to make it work properly yet though so I don’t know when to expect this.
