@p_ sigh...Can't be assed to readTbh. I'm not a big fan of either of those languages.Lemme know if you find an article stating that C++ is better than Zig or Haskell. That may be useful for when I need to raise my blood pressure.

@p_ @wolf480pl neither an expert in both but the code generation comparison like that, where c++ had decades to matures optimisations, it a bit funny to read lol

@Miaourt @wolf480pl Rust uses LLVM which is C++so it's not surprising to see them similarly.

@p_ @wolf480pl yes, I mean the IR generated by rust might not be as shiny than Rust one imhoAlso comparing two stuff that do the same and laughting because it do the same is :blobcatgoogly:

@p_ @wolf480pl well, wasn't the point of rust to get out the memory management, without GC, to C++ devs ?

@p_ @Miaourt Haven't read the article, but speaking of memory management, I think the key difference between Rust and C++ is that in C++ you have to go out of your way to use RAII and safe things everywhere, with unique/shared_ptr and stuff.Meanwhile in Rust, RAII and safe things are the default, and you need to go out of your way to do something dangerous.

@wolf480pl @p_ I mean, I can promise you there are plenty of "C++ is better than Haskell" articlesdysfunctional programmers have to justify it to themselves after all

@pea it's easy to assume things when you don't read the articlewhich is about how, no it's not "better"@wolf480pl

@p_ my point is, reading an article about C++ vs Rust doesn't affect any statement about potential articles about C++ vs Haskell
