@Maza “The Dogon priests can detail the rapid rotation, 50 year orbital cycle, small size, and immense power of Po Tolo - Sirius B - with great accuracy. However, Western science's debate often focuses on Dogon knowledge of the Sirius system outside of the whole Dogon cosmological scheme of creation. Therefore, the fact is often overlooked that the Dogon have described in great detail and accuracy the structure and nature of our entire galaxy and how we Earthlings fit into it

@Maza Probably got it from... According to Carl Sagan, western Africa has had many visitors from technological societies located on planet earth. The Dogon have a traditional interest in the sky and astronomical phenomena. If a European had visited the Dogon in the 1920's and 1930's, conversation would likely have turned to astronomical matters.. Furthermore, there had been a good amount of discussion of Sirius in the scientific press in the '20s... http://skepdic.com/dogon.html

@GrandHighInquisitor no they have this info from ancient times. Detailed info on a star system only recently discovered by “snivilized” western man. They know about the binary star system Sirius A and B. Before the scientists knew anything about that!!!

@Maza except they don't have it from ancient times. That's an assumption that was made. Seriously (or Sirius-ly) read the article I linked for you earlier. The guy behind this, Griaule, "wished to affirm the complexity of African religions and questioned his informants in such a forceful leading manner that they created new myths by confabulation." Also what you're talking about is refuted in other ways at the article.

@Maza I enjoy the cut and thrust of discussions of this kind. Listen, I WANT TO BELIEVE in the UFO presence. But the whole ancient astronaut thing in all it's forms has not only been repeatedly debunked (believers ignore the evidence) but is also, in some instances, racist. Like "those little brown people in Egypt couldn't have figured out how to build those pyramids on their own". Well they did and we DO know how they did it. Conventionally.

@Maza what happened was, this guy Griaule wanted to see a certain kind of something in what these people were saying, and it's a kind of Rorschach inkblot or Pareidolia effect. LIke when Christians see miracles in drips of water on the wall. They're frontloaded to see it. Pareidolia happens verbally as well as visually: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pareidolia

@GrandHighInquisitor well both could be true. And perhaps the brown people are the true humans and the melanin deficient are the science project gone wrong. No amazon tribe ever drove a species to extinction 💪🏽😉 #inbreeding #dogbreeds

@Maza so don't think about it, just agree that aliens visited us and trained some tribesmen in Africa? You know what, I think people think too much about that snake in the Garden of Eden. They should just accept that whole story.

@Maza No both couldn't be true. Sadly it is not true that brown people never drove a species to extinction. There is lots of evidence they did, like every other human people, of every color. What color where the people who destroyed all the mastodons? Various tribes of various colors did it. The human species is the problem. True, this sorta-white western civilization (thankfully getting less white ) is doing unprecedented damage to wildlife habitat, creating unprecedented extinction rate.
