"Need Haircut" 😂 Same though. I would actually like to protest the prices for women's haircuts.@socjuswiz

@beccabei @socjuswiz See, Becca, now you've got me wondering whether TWs claim cheaper haircuts as male people, or whether they're happy to take one for the women's team and pay up on the 'gender tax'?

I think they like super expensive women's salons because they think that's the "female experience". I'm sure that man who had a column in the paper wrote about getting his highlights done. I've never had highlights in my life.@Crabby @beccabei @socjuswiz

@You_cat_to_be_kitten_me @beccabei @socjuswiz Nope, me either! Mine's going grey gracefully, too, as I can't afford to colour it and honestly, couldn't really be bothered either. If silvery-grey's good enough for the awesome Dame Judi Dench, it's good enough for me.

I've gone gray (at the suggestion of one of those highly priced hairdressers who cut my hair at a deep discount).I get compliments. @Crabby @You_cat_to_be_kitten_me @beccabei @socjuswiz

@beccabei @LostInCalifornia @You_cat_to_be_kitten_me @socjuswiz So zoomed-in on her hair was I, I didn't even notice the clothes. It works!Slightly OT - pink used to be a signifier of masculinity for boys. That's because it's a shade of red, and red was the color of blood, and war - Mars was the God of War, and the red planet. That didn't start to change until mid-20th century, and particularly marketing on tv.https://www.theatlantic.com/national/archive/2011/04/fdr-grew-up-in-a-dress-it-wasnt-always-blue-for-boys-and-pink-for-girls/237299/

Ultramarine, a very expensive paint made from ground lapis lazuli.Only the Madonna would be painted in that sacred color - as Mother of God, she was the substitute for the Mother Goddess.@You_cat_to_be_kitten_me @Crabby @beccabei @socjuswiz

There was a really good BBC documentary on colours and their significance (to trade, art etc.) - I watched the episode on blue and it was fascinating.I remember they talked about how the most expensive colours were reserved for religious paintings. You can see why the top artists would want church patronage if that was the way to access the best materials.https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01l9mf8@LostInCalifornia @You_cat_to_be_kitten_me @Crabby @socjuswiz
