       I just realized the first release of gcc was in 1987. That's younger than I thought! What was the compiler du jour before that??

       @seven1m woah, there wasn't even ANSI C standard in 87I think the oldest, widely used at the time, and portable C compiler is the Aztec C, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aztec_C
