@fedilab Hi, is UntrackMe a locally run service, or does it send every URL to an external server to remove the tracking parameters?If it were to be enabled, would the user be able to disable it through the options menu?

@WhidouEverything is processed locally. The app handles Urls, analyses them locally (set of regex and rules), clean them and forward the new urls to apps that can handle them.

@fedilab To be honest: I think this task should be done by the server/instance.If the client has to "unshort" every link it's nessesery to request that link so there is no privacy won.If I understand you right this is meant to make the type of service (Youtube, Twitter and so on) transparent to the operating system, so it can open this is the fitting app.But I still would say: Don't do this in the client, do it on the server or in the operating system.I appreciate your work :o)

@fedilab not really, for exemple youtube links go through UntrackMe and then they open in the browser instead of NewPipe (I guess it would be the same with YouTube app)

@fedilab it is not. I have Android setup to use UntrackMe by default. UntrackMe is setup to change Twitter and Instagram links, but not YouTube. When I open a youtube link from an app I would like to see it open in NewPipe, not Firefox. It always open in Fx.

@amdg2I am not sure. I just think newpipe took back the hand. I fixed an issue that didn't display newpipe in the picker.Also, UntrackMe has its own player that really plays video locally (from the instance) and not from YouTube like newpipe is doing (by extracting Ids from invidious urls).

I started to work on that.The app needs to take the hand when delegating instead of using the default app picker. That will allow to set default apps when delegating (one less click). Everything will be editable/customizable in settings. It also needs to define some apps that could handle links like I did with NewPipe for Invidious links (I think to OSM apps with map urls).

I am testing #UntrackMe that supports all urls.I added a way to manage apps (default ones) as I can't properly use the default app picker (because UntrackMe is set by default for opening all links).
