bspwm with polybar on :arch:, still work to do but I'm tired of configuring and scripting, giving :kdelight: a shot (again) before returning to :gnomewhite: on :fedora: 32 probably#screenshotsunday #nordtheme

@oscar The configuring is kinda like an investment... When I got it as I wanted it.. it has pretty much stayed like that for years. I have played around with other setups but nothing has really compared. It took maybe a week to get it somewhat how I like it and then months of small increments... Now it is tailored precisely after how I like stuff.. pretty much a perfect fit. ;)

@shellkr @oscar I get both points. I really like my i3wm setup on my Work-Notebook. But it's a constant WIP. Right now I am trying F32 with KDE on my private x230

@shellkr I spent almost two weeks tweaking this last time, I had been on bspwm before and I get it to the point where I like how it looks but functionality is still not perfect and learning keybindings is still a hustle for me 😅Although it's pretty convenient when I get used to the basic ones.

@humbug @oscar Curiosity is a good thing to have but I started my build around 2011 or something like that. ;) So I wouldn't say it is finished but changes are very small nowadays.. Last thing I did a couple of months back was to add an idle timer in my panel so I know how long I have been away.

@oscar You don't have to know everyone... I don't and I have used Bspwm for many many years. I learn the ones I need. Basically all navigation is with my left hand. My sxkhdrc http://ix.io/2i4D. My muscle memory needed perhaps a month or so...

@humbug @shellkr I don't get used to how KDE looks, because when I use a DE I always go with default theme and almost stock settings. Also, it has a lot of configurations, some of them hidden or at least I don't find them easily. That's why I go with Gnome

@oscar @humbug I was in the Gnome camp before I started with tiling... I started to prefer command line tools more and more and eventually started tiling in terminals. A Tiling WM was just a natural move..First with i3 and a multitude of other tilers until I settled with Bspwm around 2011 or perhaps it was 2012.

@shellkr I see interesting configs in your sxkhdrc that I didn't know about, thanks for the tips!

@shellkr I used i3 for some time either and I miss some of its multimonitor config on bspwm.

@oscar What more exactly because you can pretty much get any functionality in Bspwm.. Like by using the 'monitor' in config too dedicate nodes to.

@shellkr If I remember correctly, there's a config to swap programms from one screen to another. Also, changing from a focused program on one screen to another was posible without changing workspaces, if they are both active. It might be posible with the nodes' config as you said, I have to read more the documentation 😅

@oscar Yes, it is possible... you just specify the 'monitor' instead of 'desktop' like you do usually.. Its all in the man page. ;)
