@cole jokes aside, the main problem I have with boosts is that they introduce the message to a different context in which the author maybe wouldn't say it.

@wolf480pl Fair critique. I really only use boosts when people post interesting software or links so all of my 2 followers can see.I noticed you already use it on occasion, but I think that the "prevent boosts" setting is an OK-ish alternative. It'd be interesting to see AP without boosts, because that's how I originally found some of the people I follow.

@cole yeah, I do use boosts too. Sometimes when it's ok, but sometimes when I shouldn't.I wish AP had greater controls over post visibility. In particular, it'd be nice to control "everyone who has the link" visibility separately from boostability.
