We're getting there; today's @kde Neon OS image for the #PinePhone features ~10 hours of battery life! Further power efficiency improvements are expected soon™. If you've got a BH phone then give it a spin. Link: https://images.plasma-mobile.org/pinephone/

I just picked up my phone, took off the back, pulled the SD card, and stuck it in my laptop to try!(Which is what I think is incredibly cool about this!)

@PINE64 @kde don't do disastrous Purism communication by omitting details.10hours by doing what? How fluid is the UI? Is WiFi enabled? Are you connected to your phone carrier? Are you able to make phone call?

@ka01 @kde This is 10 hours with the cell modem online. Several of the distros available have working calls now; I'll admit I do not know for 100% sure if KDE Neon is one of them. But at this point it's a safe bet that it either does, or it's only a minor software tweak away.

@PINE64 @kde Great. I have no doubt about the PinePhone64 being the One (for FOSS enthusiasts), I am just suggesting to avoid such shortcuts in your statements. We know that your are aiming at competing with 700$ flagship phones, so no need to soften the hard edges ;)Keep it up

@PINE64 Does that Neon version have any particular patches/tweaks or could I expect the same power management from upstream components?

@PINE64 @ka01 @kde And the screen? And the wifi/bt modules? And the USB are they also on?And how many mAh in the battery? When a member of purism staff mentioned their progresses in battery life, he mentioned those specifics.

@maryjane @ka01 @kde I'm mostly relaying from "the bird site", as someone asked why it wasn't posted here. I (person responsible for Mastodon communications) haven't been very in the loop as I've been busy with life. No need to get aggressive about it...To my understanding, this is mostly screen-off time from a full charge with the stock (3000mAh) battery, but with all radios on.

@PINE64 @ka01 @kde It was not my intention to be aggressive. If the way I expressed myself was aggressive to you, then I apologize. But there are several factors at play that affect battery life.To say just 10 hours battery life without mentioning the rest (and I am not saying it is deliberate), does not allow an good evaluation

@sadatdaniel sure they have AND communication should be on their focus too.Mentioning 10h without data or explanation to back it up. What is the value in it ?Don't be such a groupie, Sadat. @PINE64 @maryjane @kde

@RyuKurisu @kde It's standby, with the cell modem on the entire time. More improvements should bring that down even further.
