I never liked utilities written in #NodeJS, but since #rust and #go exists, I quit a website as soon as I see `npm` is mentioned.

@ilpianista Why would you write a website in a language that's designed mostly for systems programming?Or do you mean like network services that need to have high performance and/or do something other than serving web pages? (Like say an ActivityPub server.)I'd think that maybe Python is a good, sane choice for serving websites?

@socjuswiz @ilpianista I'd argue that Golang is basically designed specifically to make performant server-side web-based software easy to write. Google designed it for their engineers, engineers in the business of writing APIs. The golang standard library is fully decked out with everything you'd need to write a website backend.See: https://gowebexamples.com/Hot tip: you can easily port a Hugo template into Golang because Hugo uses the Golang standard HTML template library.

@socjuswiz I'm talking specifically about the utilities, not the websites. Any project out there has a website describing it, hence the confusion.

@ilpianista Oooh I get you. I'd say also look into lisp/scheme but usually their communities are smol. :blob_melt_sob: Maybe GNU Guile.
