More idle time, with pneumonia. What a nasty illness.Anyone else like Frank Miller's Sin City? Marv, played by Mickey Rourke, is by far my favorite character. Trump's 'attack' persona is Marv, (sans psychotropic drugs). "I Love Hit Men. No matter what you do to them you don't feel bad."

This hit me and my family a week before Christmas. The symptoms of this "weird-ass flu", most severe with me at 60, were identical to Wuhan. High fever followed by runny nose and a dry cough, headache, fatigue, pain in the bones, and shortness of breath.I could 'feel' pneumonia developing, as I've had it before. By Christmas I was bed-ridden on antibiotics. Symptoms didn't subside until late January, just before the COVID-19 outbreak was finally reported. Did I have it? I think likely.

@Debradelai Why 100%? I interacted regularly with people from China and who had traveled to China. We only know when it was reported. We have no way of knowing with any certainty when it actually began to spread. More than half my students were sick at the time I became ill. Vietnamese work and go to school while sick, that's just common here. Our flu season's over. It's only now that anyone with high fever and a cough is openly feared and reports to get it diagnosed. Why not possible?

@Debradelai We currently have 16 officially diagnosed cases in Vietnam. All recovered, no deaths. No new cases. 16 always struck me as an unusually small number, given the amount of contact with others while contagious and before symptoms appear. Two possibilities: Under-reported or accurate. My question, if those numbers are accurate: Is it possible that it did not spread like wildfire here (and elsewhere) because we had already weathered it?

@Debradelai Leftists are all over Corona, hoping agains creepy dystopian hope that it will damage the economy, us, and more to the point, Trump. So my mind is on it. So many unknowns, not a lot adding up. Everyone here frightened out of their minds. All schools closed until 3/2 and there are NO new diagnosed cases anywhere.

@Debradelai @StevenDouglas just my uneducated opinion, if the Wuhan Flu was in America two months ago there would be a hell of a lot more people diagnosed with it by now.

@Dubby @Debradelai Had the flu been reported in December there would have been nationwide panic here. EVERYONE was sick. More than half of my students in all classes were VERY SICK!Now nobody that I know is. Everyone's well.

@StevenDouglas @Debradelai If you live in the United States the flu season peaks in February and then tapers down through May...flu season is considered to be October through May, that is when the flu season is most contagious, the flu can be experienced throughout the year...the flu of 2020, according to the cdc is expected to be one of the worst in decades...so chances are pretty freaking good that you just had the common garden variety flu... but paranoia is far more contagious..if you kwIm

@MEMA @Debradelai Paranoia to the point where nobody dares cough in public, when two month ago everyone was openly hacking up lungs without a second thought.

@Tokeninja Why? What could blood work reveal? Can they tell if you 'had' a virus from which you've already recovered?

@StevenDouglas how do you know that the virus has left your system and is not dormant?

@Tokeninja I don't know that the virus isn't dormant. Lots going on in my body that I don't know about. I never worry when I get a virus. No stress, lots of fluids, warmth, and plenty of bed rest. Medicate over symptoms where needed and suffer through it -- let my miraculous body deal with the rest.
