       @jackofallEves Oo, if you could! There's surely a lot to be said on the topic even now, let alone in another decade or two.I definitely hope this lives up to the relatively sober synopsis, rather than going off into scaremongering. (Joyfulness at the possibilities is surely too much to ask =:)

       @jackofallEves That's the thing, of course - we're still very much at the earliest stages with any kind of direct neural interfacing, largely just dumping a bunch of I/O in there (but still very low res) and hoping the brain can get used to it and map it to something intelligible. Plus the difficulties of all this being inherently invasive, vs the sci-fi ideal of, say, something self-assembling.
