@fluffy @thatbrickster It's not about culture. It's about individual boundaries. I don't appreciate it when people attempt to sexualise me or my partner. Or to sexualise vulnerable people to the point they think being sexualised is normal... because it happened to me and that was painful to go through. In their case, they implied that what is normal is some sort of bizarre attack. It's okay to have different boundaries, but it's not okay to imply that other people's boundaries are some sort of weird attack when it's just being ordinary people.

If I consider it to be normalised behaviour to be expected, then it will put me in a vulnerable place and destroy my boundaries around people. As it is, I've had to endure this behaviour too many times online and it wasn't fun. It's uncomfortable to witness it, particularly when it is done to those who don't want it done to them. Nobody even thinks to ask if this behaviour is okay to say to someone else, they will just do it and keep doing it if there is no pushback. Sometimes they will keep doing it towards that person even if there is some pushback, assuming it wasn't meant. Thus eroding boundaries.
