So Julie Bindel has responded on Mumsnet and it’s again disappointing. This is about a lot more than getting Mona’s name wrong. So you still won’t get another donation from me. I have to ask. Why is Bindel on Twitter, a place that bans feminists, and Mumsnet which allows men to coercively control women using their mod rules, but not here on Spinster?

@AprilTui I hadn't noticed that she had misspelled Eltahawy's name while complaining about Parker not knowing her name. 🤭I wish there wasn't fighting like this. All three women have done a ton of great work (esp. Bindel and Eltahawy, over many years) but also did some mistakes... If any of them cannot stand one another why not just ignore and move on, or talk it out like adults. :blob_melt_sob:

@AprilTui @MavisRockit I think Bindel probably wants to change Eltahawy's mind by showing kindness. So that's why she got super mad at Parker, which is ironic given that she could have showed the same kindness to Parker as well. Why does everyone want to tear down someone? That's no better than the cancel culture / outrage culture shown by libfems and TRAs in my opinion.

Yup. My point in sharing is I don’t think someone that does things like this should do so repeatedly without those who support her and her work telling her it’s simply not ok. I don’t want Julie cancelled or anything, but I want her to realise this isn’t acceptable to a lot of other women and then not to do this again. This isn’t the first occasion. @socjuswiz

I really doubt Mona responds to ‘kindness’ as some very respectful tweets she responded to with nothing but nastiness. I’m all for talking with others who have different opinions on this but wouldn’t waste my time on someone like Mona who just insults and disrespects a large group of women and dismisses their concerns as white feminism. That ignores all the indigenous Maori, and many many other women of colour who are impacted by MEN in our spaces etc etc etc @socjuswiz @MavisRockit
