In case you needed more proof of Facebook's clear preference for white and male staff, here's some helpful statistics. The trend in mostly male staff: https://www.statista.com/statistics/311827/facebook-employee-gender-global/The trend in mostly white staff: https://www.statista.com/statistics/311847/facebook-employee-ethnicity-us/White and male is setting the standard for what is considered hate speech and community standards violation. Not female, not people of color. - Villainess 🕷

Not defending fb in the least, they need to die a slow death, but stats like these don't always tell the full story- for instance-Their European HQ is based here in Ireland where our population is 95% white so they couldn't ethnically diversify even if they wanted to. But that is just one HQ. And it's still no excuse for having mostly male staff. And it's a great point about white and male setting the standard. Twitter is based here too and I'm sure the same applies there too. @Orgasmic_Villainess

The main reason I'm so focused on Facebook though is because of the personal information it DEMANDS from its users. I can understand requiring personal information if you're involved in the platforms payment methods. But it demands phone numbers, selfies, personal id, and is trying to get healthcare information as I understand it. It also holds some of the greatest political swing, allows false news from the candidates its executives support, and (if I'm not mistaken) you can register to vote on Facebook. No other platform does these things or demands the information that Facebook demands from average users who don't use payment methods. This is dangerous for a number of reasons. And yes we should demand greater sex diversity and ethnic diversity on all platforms. But as far as I'm concerned none compare to Facebook. @ReSistingPink
