@architect. Hoping mine will be along here soon. What are you running on it?

@tekmav Right now it's just the customized Debian they ship with, I'm planning on trying OpenBSD/NetBSD and Alpine, but those aren't a huge priority at the moment.

@architect Cool. Hoping mine will be here today or before the week's end. Stuck at home with 2 broke ribs so riding the couch with the Oryx Pro getting some things done and would love to playing around with that new sweetness. Considering the Manjaro install myself, but using i3. Wanting a nice mean, lean, writing machine (with a few toots and whistles for fun, of course).

@tekmav Dang, sorry to hear about your ribs, hope they can heal up quickly. Looks like there's a Manjaro build available, so that should be a pretty simple process to get set up and ready to get stuff done. It's noticeably better for typing than the OG Pinebook, rarely mistype anything, and the native applications were all nicely responsive.

@architect Already downloaded the Manjaro images in prep. Looking forward to banging away on the keyboard. I use a Logitech trackball with the Oryx. I cannot stand touch/track pads in general. Probably will do the same with the PBP, but my goal is to try and keep as close to keyboard centric as possible (ie terminal applications, i3, qutebrowser). Was thinking last night that maybe lakka and recalbox should put out images for the PBP. Switch the sdcard and game on.

@architect Btw, did you go ANSI or ISO for the keyboard?

@tekmav ANSI, ISO screws with some of the important keys for my workflow.Totally understand the desire to avoid the trackpad, I spent last night disabling the default behaviour of booting into MATE and then having to figure out how Debian configures the console keymap. Finally got it booting straight to console and using wpa_supplicant instead of NetworkManager for wifi connections. Still not done, but much nicer than stock, IMO.

@architect Went ANSI as well for the same reason. Defintely want to hear more about your experiences with it as you get the time to put it to use and try out various installs, configs, etc.

@tekmav Well, right now, my first impressions are more "well this is why I don't like Linux" rather than anything hardware related, lol. But I've got some ideas that I can start writing out fairly soon.

@architect I am waiting to see how long it would take for you to shoehorn a beastie into it machine.
