@fatboy Using Chrome is currently as bad as using Internet Explorer in the late 90s.There are a number of websites that flat out don't work with Firefox because people only make sure it works in Chrome due to its market dominance. We need people to use non-Chrome browsers enough that those who make websites can't skip making them usable by everyone.

@fatboy I won't be ready to kill off Google until Microsoft is dead, but I'm personally ready to quit using Google products.

@fatboy The online spyware classification project classifies the spyware level of Chrome as extremely high. Problems vary from building extremely detailed profiles of users to keylogging and voice recording. For this and more fun stuff check the link.https://spyware.neocities.org/articles/chrome.html

@kungtotte @fatboy This is kind of just deserts. I remember when Netscape came into being. OS/2 had one of the fastest, standards-based, web browsers that was my preferred choice. Netscape started using non-standard rendering mechanisms, and web developers followed suit due to Netscape's market dominance (so did Microsoft, once they realized the internet was real). The OS/2 browser stuck to the standards and became hard to use, a Netscape port appeared, and ...

@lwriemen @fatboy don't blame me. I used Opera until they fell to Chrome's dominance. They consistently won the ACID challenge for CSS compliance with their homegrown engine...

@kungtotte @lwriemen I used to be an Opera fanboy. I recently changed to Palemoon and am not looking back. It's literally the only browser that's driven by a community and not based on Chromium

@fatboy Not frowned upon. That never solved anything. I think both Chrome and Firefox users should be informed that they can have the browser they know, but without the crap if they switch to Iridiumbrowser or Waterfox. Good compromise on being practical and avoid browser vendors exploiting you and your privacy.
