@ReSistingPink I too sing the praises of leeks. In chicken and vegetable stocks, in roast vegetables, in potato soup

@ReSistingPink Oooh, if you steam them lightly, they are a complete revelation in white sauce! Truly delish, gurl.Baby leeks are delicious when roasted in a bit of olive oil, black pepper, salt. When just about ready, shave some parmesan over them. Nom nom!I love leeks. So delicious!

@ReSistingPink Yup.... one of vegedom's unsung heroes.Could be the prep is a pain in the bum? Easy though - strip the outer leaves. Keep root on. Slice lengthwise into halves and then quarters. Hold under running tap and all the dirt is GONE. All those leaves separate easy-peasy. AND there's often enough water in them after cutting to steam in, only have to add a wee bitty. And dinnae cut off the green! All the English peeps I knew would cut the green off.... uh, no, it's delicious too!

I take it as far up to the top as i can, past the split. Can't waste any of that deliciousness. I've never sliced them lengthways though, great tip. I'm jealous of your garden with your fancy baby leeks (show off :blobcheeky: ). Can't wait to get our garden started again. So ready for Spring already. @MavisRockit

@ReSistingPink Ah, you're in the heart of winter, Janey! This is the time for formless dreaming, getting your seed catalogues delivered to your door, making badly-scaled drawings of your plots (I have a handkerchief lol) and planning what you'll put where.... and changing your mind the minute the first seedlings are in your paw! LMAO xxDream big while there's no skin in the game, gurl.

Ohhhh my gosh- Beautifully put. That was poetry. :blobcatlove: And you're right. Garden failed pretty badly last year because it was very much unplanned. We were on the backfoot with anew unfamiliar plot and the slugs won the war, big time. Definitely trying harder this season. (Tell you what I am planting asap. My greenie girls. My canna-babies. My spirit medicine. I don't believe in God but it is hard not to when plants like that exist for our use) @MavisRockit
