@selea It depends on the size of your organisation and whether you need GitLab's CI/CD.

@c We are a pretty small org, and they have never used any CI.

@selea I use gitea. To be honest unless there's specific Gitlab functionality you need, it's hard to justify it's bloat (unless bloat isn't important).

@selea depends on the size of the project. For small envs Gitea works perfectly.

@stevelord @selea Giteas CI is not transparent and can be confusing.

@selea @sandro @stevelord There are CI systems that integrate with it. I use Drone with Gitea, works great.

@selea I like gitlab. It's a bit of a hog, but I manage to run it on a 2GB RAM instance. All for myself.Cool non- software development thing about it: integrated support of let's encrypt and google authenticator.Cool dev thing about it: Quick view of assigned tickets. CI is really nice.I don't know anything about GItea so I haven't voted.

@selea Depends if you want features and power, or if you care more about pure-opensource.Gitlab is the clear winner in terms of functionality, but it is questionable in terms of EULA/ToS

@InternetKevin I saw a few of them, but they where mostly towards businesses it seems. I did not find any that attacked the question from a personal view

@selea I guess there are some but they are buried underneath all the business-oriented articles. No obvious search term to distinguish the type of analysis of interest.

@freemo @seleasee the difference between Gitlab CE (MIT-licensed) and Gitlab EE (EULA'd, freemium)I'm talking about the self-hosted one, obviously.
