@activationfxn Post whatever you like. I already asked some folks to post their stuff and I got sworn at and called a cult member and told to “shut up” by some white christians and have seen absolutely nothing that resembles racist posts in any way so... I’m always all ears for this kind of discussion but so far it seems like a bunch of white christians being complete assholes online...

@tesseract Yeah, emotions run high around it because it was kinda a disaster. I had just gotten here when the two most recent problems with anna and racism happened. There were other problems before that, but I wasn't here for them.

@activationfxn People keep telling me there were “problems” but absolutely no one has shown me any specifics related to Anna. I get that there was a bizzaro account on here saying anti-LGBT slurs and talking about “the Spanish aristocracy”!? whatever the hell that means? And that account has long since gone. (Probably banned?) So um... I’ve asked a bunch of times for specifics and none appear. If you have some please share! I’d love to hear about them! But I see a pattern developing here...

@tesseract I understand. I've been here 10 months. In that time here's what I saw.- A new instance headed by a black kid full of mostly PoC was migrating to the fediverse from twitter.- anna searches through years of his tweets and finally finds a single one that she deemed made him permanently cancellable. His name was Jovan if you want to check out his twitter feed.- She goes on a personal campaign to intimidate him off the fediverse. As soon as he sets up his instance, she fills his DM's with all caps demands for him to leave. She constantly shit talks his instance.- She gets called out by PoC for being incredibly harsh on this guy, and for not allowing the jovanites to have any time to get used to the fediverse at all before attacking them. She apologizes publicly and to Jovan personally. It seems that we've all learned and everything's fine.

@tesseract I don't remember, but I never saw jovan say anything bad while he was here. He was a pretty good admin, the thing I remember most is him making posts to teach his instance how to make other users of the fediverse comfortable. anna probably has a screenshot if you want to ask her.

@tesseract She screenshot dunked him, but I didn't save her toot of his tweet. I usually don't care for reading cross-posts, and I never saw any indication that he was some huge problem so I didn't worry about it.

@tesseract No. The problem is that she tried to harass a new instance off the fediverse before they got here by digging through years of tweets. She was war-on-drugsing, applying different standards of "badness" to the same behavior based on people's skin color. She apologized. I thought it was going to be fine, it seemed like she learned a new thing about herself and was going to get better. No one's perfect.

@tesseract But- a few weeks later a witches.live user calls a WoC a racial slur because, of all things, she dared critique monarchy. The WoC reports the w.l user and posts a screenshot of the user's toot to warn other PoC.- The first thing anna does is chastize the WoC for the (perfectly normal) manner in which she reported the user. Anna accused the WoC of trying to make witches.live "look bad.
