       @musafir @hackiechan I have a feeling that countries that have a very low dependence on religion, like Northern European countries have a higher quality of life. But I might be mistaken

Generally though, low dependence on social norms (organized religion being one of many sources of social norms) is not possible for groups. Larger groups especially depend on social norms to function. It's only individuals who can have relatively lower dependence on social norms to function.

Secularity do play a part (though a minor one in my eyes) but is not the biggest reason for high quality of life. The biggest is taxes. It has brought a more equal society and with it a more humane society.Finland is very religious for instance...
