I don't agree with every single decision our admins take, but I don't see what the problem is with double-checking with lawyers and trying to see if the message is real before making an announcement. "We have received a message that may or may not be from the FBI, which may or may not mean Spinster, or a member of Spinster, or someone from Gab who was reposted here, is under FBI investigation"? How would that help? If someone here is doing things warranting FBI investigation, they already know to take precautions, and if it's someone who doesn't expect it, they wouldn't know it was about them either. 🤔 It's only prudent to first think about course of action before publicly annonucing a mail that might as well just be a troll.

Did you just say “may”? So you think it would be cool to cause paranoia because it “may” be legit? Exactly why are you trolling here? Not enough drama in your life? You seem pretty unhappy with this site. May I suggest you either leave or come up with an alternative?@uteri_my_duderi @Wildebeest

@Karu @Wildebeest Yes, I think that it would be appropriate to tell people of a possible FBI contact when lawyers say that there is a decent chance that the sit is under fbi investigation. People have right to this information so that they can take precautions they feel necessary or choose to make posts with that information in mind, and it definitely needed to be done before a gag order kicked in. It is relatively easy to state this is information in a way to avoid a panic, and it is part of the mod's jobs to communicate these sorts of things, specifically to women who have a history of activism. What trolling am I doing, I am correcting something someone said lol?As a user and part of the demographic for this site, I am allowed to critique it. This is a project that also is receiving donations from women, who have the right to know issues with what they are donating to. With regard to alternatives, I'll suggest cliterati. Grow up and remove quit licking alex's and mk's boots.

Now you are the one not being transparent. Other lawyers said it was a scam so this is not the only opinion out there. Anybody could have faked those documents. Look at them. They are not official. The wait and see position was entirely appropriate. To think that this site is not going to get all kinds of trolls is naive. Every time we are thrown into a tizzy over it is an invitation for even more of it. @uteri_my_duderi @Wildebeest

@Karu @Wildebeest alex is a dipshit but he is one of the people running the website and claims to care about women in a revolutionary movement. Since he sincerely thought there is a good possibility the FBI is fishing for info using his and mk's site, he had an ethical repsonibility to tell people. And he did not.

@Wildebeest <<I don't see what the problem is with double-checking with lawyers and trying to see if the message is real before making an announcement.>>They did double-check with lawyers - @mk has told us this - and one of those lawyers, who is a specialist in internet privacy, surveillance, etc, told them that 'it did not appear to be a scam': https://spinster.xyz/@mk/posts/103454431784322933If a lawyer at the Electronic Frontier Foundation thinks that the emails are legit, that is a huge red flag.
