@HunDriverWidow All drugs interact with our brains, especially if they cross the brain-blood barrier. Food can have negative impacts as well, if you have sensitivities or allergies. Her BP & anxiety were such that they couldn't control it. Her cardiologist had a fit & said "never ever" take that again. It's far too expensive; clinical trials too small; they don't know what it does yet. She had that drug in her system for 2 wks. She was on time-release anti-anxiety meds for 2 wks.

I experienced a side effect that can be life threatening. It says online, "call the doctor immediately if you have blisters & skin peeling; can be life threatening." I double checked the handout; not there. Stevens-Johnson syndrome is a rare but serious problem. Most often, it's a severe reaction to a medicine you've taken. Check all meds & OTC.

One of his biggest allergies is to iodine. During one trip to the ER, they injected him with something & he immediately deteriorated. Couldn’t breathe & turned red. They took one look at him & started him on an antidote. The first drug they gave him had iodine in it. I’ve added that one to my list now.

@watspn1013 My hubby has terrible reaction to anything with codeine or its derivative. Last episode at ER I warned them to not give him anything with "co" in it. They gave him hydrocodone anyway, and hubby got very sick to his stomach. Doc/nurse came in. I confronted them & they started blah blahing about how the "medical community" does not believe derivatives have any effect like that. We "assume" they're adequately inspected. Are your meds from China, India, Vietnam? Most people never ask their pharmacist where their meds come from. Even name brands have chemicals from out of the USA. You don't have to believe me, do your own research. My pharmacy has a note in my file, no China meds for me.

I was there for over a week longer (15 days) and they were amazed my sugar was back to normal. When she came back a few days later I told her she would have a shrine dedicated to her. I can fall asleep easily, but can only sleep for 3-4 hours. Then I’m fully awake. Wish I could sleep longer sometimes, but I’m not tired. I used to sleep 4-5 hours. No longer.

Last time I woke up being rolled out of surgery and you could see the surprise on their faces. I was not supposed to be awake yet, but the nausea was overwhelming.Best solution I've found (for me anyway) is a shot of Phenergan. Instant relief! Maybe that will help him too.

@haydogranch There is a better drug out there than Phenergan with a lower allergic reaction profile. It's called Zofran and it works very well. No long acting. For an 8 hr surgery they gave him ZERO insulin. That doesn't count the 2 hrs before either.Fortunately for him neither one of us is hesitant to tell the Drs and Nurses exactly what to do when we know we are right.

@watspn1013 I suffered with allergic conjunctivitis In my eyes for a few years, I get it. After Cortisone treatments and giving up contacts I have been fine for decades. I have worn glasses since age ten, wouldn't go to contacts until disposables came out. My eyes just didn't like them, oh well...😊

@JM Never knew o has astigmatism! Youngest daughters eyes are horrible. But she can luckily tolerate contacts. Otherwise her one eye looks like she’s wearing a bottle. I was sorely tempted to tell the Cleveland doc ou would be back in ten days for a follow up if he would start the prescription! Lol. Hellish driving in with Polaroid sunglasses! Glare is a killer. @rarity @bjssunshine Son has 20+ years experience, same Edocrinologist. I recommend that one consult their Endocrinologist for any adjustments to insulin levels in unusual circumstances like that.Son tried Steroids once for his back condition. It drove his insulin needs sky high and you can't really counteract the steroids much. He survived and steroids are no longer allowed ⚠️

One of his biggest allergies is to iodine. During one trip to the ER, they injected him with something & he immediately deteriorated. Couldn’t breathe & turned red.
