https://fee.org/articles/no-jesus-wasnt-a-socialist/No, Jesus Wasn't a SocialistChristian charity, being voluntary and heartfelt, is utterly distinct from the compulsory, impersonal mandates of the state.“The poor you will always have with you, and you can help them any time you want,” says Jesus in Matthew 26:11 and Mark 14:7. The key words there are you can help and want to help. He didn’t say, “We’re going to make you help whether you like it or not.”

@Jackie He wasn't Christian either. He was Jewish. It's called Tzedakah and a core part of the faith and commandment of G-D.Check out these 2 excerpts which clearly say the opposite of forcing the poor to give everything to the rich for distribution.

@Jackie Make sure your tzedakah money will be used wisely, efficiently and effectively. Which our social programs miserably fail at by allocating 90% or more to overhead, salaries and structure.
