@absturztaube Well, maybe. My point is that it is impossible for an app to bind itself to an ever-changing plethora of domains, whereas YouTube.com is served from YouTube.com and nothing else. (And youtu.be perhaps).

@absturztaube Actually yes there's something special. Like I said, PeerTube apps can't know beforehand whether a certain domain name is a PeerTube instance or not. Which means they can't bind themselves as link openers.

@mewmew @absturztaube No YouTube alternative provides a better UX than YouTube itself.You might dislike the tracking but YouTube, unlike FOSS projects, spends money on user research.Particularly, Invidious has a terrible interface. Sometimes glitches and can-t fetch certain videos, is limited to 720p only, and so on.
