My view may vary from yours though because we only had 3 channels in our area, an NBC affiliate, a CBS affiliate, and a local PBS station.

@abby holy shit yes, except my area also has a FOX affiliate, so reruns of 2 and a half men, NCIS and big bang theorymy fav show had to be Nova on PBS tho, super interesting

@cdmnky A lot of this was before or just around the rollout of Digital TV. Stations back then didn't have the tech to be affiliated with multiple stations. Now the area I grow up has a bunch of stations with dual and even triple affiliation. WDAM in Laurel/Hattiesburg MS has NBC and ABC now... and Bounce TV which has good movies sometimes, but I"m not very fond of it.The CBS affiliate WHLT has CBS, CW, Ion, and Court TV Mystery.A new station popped up in 2005 in the area that only did religious programming (but I never had the signal to be annoyed by it0. they switched to digital in 2009, and became the first Fox affiliate in the area in 2011 along with MeTV and ThisTV.
