@Gill_R My solution: Add dozens of single stall, private bathrooms with locking doors. Convert administrative office space to do it and put 3-4 desks in each remaining office. They can spend time learning what it's like to feel like you've lost your right to your own space, and the little kids can use whichever toilet they like without validating or invalidating them.

I'm going to disagree with you. This is a secondary school (the specific ages mentioned are 12 & 13) so not only is there a legal requirement (in the UK) for schools to provide single sex toilets for pupils aged 8 & over, but the girls in this age range are coping with menstruation. I think it's important for them to have somewhere completely away from the boys. @feministmoxie

@Gill_R Yes, I absolutely agree. I could have been more clear. The bathrooms would be single occupant, providing maximum privacy. Just not single sex, which always raises concerns about spy cameras...
