I left Twitter in Feb, deleted my account one weary day. I've missed the craic and the thought-provoking GC and trans-rational people. Recently, I've lurked on Mumsnet which is full of smart, funny GC women and men - who knew? (Not me, I'm not a mum) I didn't post or join up cos: guidelines 🤔 but reading others posts I was nodding away, I wasn't alone. If any of you are here, thanks for your company. I've used many of your links when raising concerns with my safeguarding leads at work. And puuuullllll.

@the_wonderer I was (am!) the same on Mumsnet. I've been reading it for years, but haven't actually signed up. It's a great site. There are lots of actual Mumsnetters on here. @LangCleg being one. She posts interesting stuff on here too.

@the_wonderer @LangCleg I think that when they say that, they have mainly been thinking about MNers who lurk but don't post, but there are also lots of lurkers like us, who are not even signed up. The reach of MN is potentially huge. I have a lot of respect for the women who have stayed on there, despite the restrictions, to try to reach other women.

Yes, I've no desire to join a forum again that is gaslighting women so I won't join but I read, bookmark, pass on articles to relevant decision-makers and do what I can to address the issues IRL. @rose @LangCleg

@LangCleg @the_wonderer Another thing to consider is that I found out about lots of crowdfunders on Mumsnet (despite the fact that direct links are banned). So I'm sure lots of women sent lots of cash to feminist campaigns just because they read about them first on MN.

Thanks for the tip. I have no experience of Reddit but might dip my toe on the recommendation. I think we all have our own take - it's a complex and nuanced subject (I know I haven't entirely come to my own conclusions on some aspects that once seemed no-brainer,s to me, like polite pronouns use) but discussion and respectful debate has been missing for too long. @the_wonderer I’m spinning but I do appreciate a good glint ;) I used an RSS feed to just read the articles people were posting initially but there’s a spinster account that automatically feeds articles through: cc. @gendercritical so I just follow them now Reading lots of different ideas here has opened my eyes to a lot of things I hadn’t previously considered. It’s not always easy but I do think it’s so worthwhile and necessary to be aware.
