Lots of UK Labour folk on Twitter are calling on people to join to "help" them change the party including Jess Phillips.They can fuck off! Having been told to go join the Tories because I did not put up with lefty sexism, I am not up for joining their party to help them fix the mess they created.Jess only wants people to join now so they are in before any deadlines and can vote for her in a leadership contest. Again she can fuck off until she is prepared to speak up for women's sex based rights.

@Ladyfat @Dog_Lady @macha I was a Labour member. I left because it wouldn't listen to its women members. It feels a bit like Einstein's defintion of insanity to go back as things are. I'm not going to knock women who are still party members and are trying, tbf, but it's just not for me.I saw Alistair Campbell being interviewed on election night. He said the problem is that momentum have control of the party mechanisms (obvs not re women's rights, but the momentum issue in general). It's going to be a massive uphill struggle to counter that. Especially when you look at the post election propaganda machine. Momentum are blaming everything but themselves. That lack of self awareness is not a good sign.

@Mrkhvoice @Ladyfat @Dog_Lady This is horrible and not at all surprising. I have spoken to two friends who are active in their CLPs and both have had a torrid time during this election. This Labour campaign was dominated by Momentum and they sidelined and ignored anyone who had a different view to them. They are now blaming everyone but themselves.One of my friends is black and has now resigned from the Party as he got sick of posh white kids telling him about racism. They wanted him to be in their campaign selfies as he is the son of Windrush parents but refused to listen to him about his experience of racism! 🤦 The Momentum leaders and media cheerleaders are beyond awful and will destroy Labour completely if they are not kicked out. BTW I think most of the young people who joined Labour because of Corbyn are great and I respect how hard they campaigned but they need to wise up and stand up to Momentum madness.

I had a huge row with my very left wing brother, when I tried to point out that lots of people wouldn't vote Labour over concerns about their no platforming, anti-free speech and hate crime support. He (delightfully) told me "not that many people are as obsessed with the gender stuff as you are", and refused to consider that academic freedom might be a really important and much broader issue at all.

@FeartnTired There is a lot I like about Jess Phillips and I think she has a great ability to cut through bullshit and connect with people. However she frustrates me with her refusal to speak out on the threat to sex based rights and blatant misogyny in trans activism. She knows what is happening in the refuges and the devastation in specialist women's services. In her position silence is not good enough.What I don't understand is that Jess already gets so much abuse and threats that I don't believe fear of online abuse would stop her from speaking. @Dog_Lady @FeartnTired I have met Jess. In the last Parliament she was co-chair of the APPG on FGM. She is OK and very down to earth. She is smart and she really does care about violence against women which is why it is so difficult that she is silent on such an important issue.

@Dog_Lady @FeartnTired It is the same with Stella Creasy who I have met quite a few times and is great on many issues. Labour now has more female MPs than male. They could become a real force for change but not if they all keep quiet on this and let Dawn Butler continue to be their spokesperson for women and equalities 🤦 I will not pay money to be a member or even vote for them until they sort this out.

Also the massive contradictions that we are supposed to be a tiny minority as gc, while at the same time the tra who are a tiny minority are seen as a massive group of oppressed people. We have the power to cause murder/suicide of tra, when in fact its men who have the power and do kill women and TIM. Men dont want to hear it.
