no, I did not see the poetry. but I hadn't realised mr intellectual was living here! argh. I don't quite understand the word Fenian. It just means Irish? Having not grown up singing Sectarian songs (and my mother having kept me away from the parades, thanks!) not heard them either. it's only latterly I've read references to "Fenian blood" and seen that it's intended to be threatening and offensive. such nice people the Orange Order. Glasgow and the other bits of Scotland's great shame.@Camille

Finn McCool I've seen it spelled in a piece of US fantasy fiction 😁 @Camille One of our elected politicians is Irish born and was pictured next to a green flag with writing on, and someone was saying this was a "Fenian Brotherhood" group/flag/emblem and that therefore he was promoting violence. Which I know he would not. it doesn't seem to have moved on much, this is 2019!

One of the aspects of this election that will be most interesting to watch is NI. Dunno if you’ve come across Suzanne Breen? Well respected NI journo & currently political editor of the Belfast Telegraph. She said the tension around this election in NI reminded her of the atmosphere during the hunger strikes.
